SweepsLoot Is Legit?

SweepsLoot is not legit – they are a shady sweepstakes site that hosts daily giveaways with cash prizes and operates in all US states. We couldn’t find any evidence of actual winners of these giveaway contests, and to make matters worse, this scam website collects as much data as possible about you and then sells it to 3rd parties.

We have no faith in SweepsLoot running fair sweepstake contests, which is why we strongly recommend you don’t participate in their giveaways. If you want to win real cash prizes, then sign up to these sweepstakes casinos with tested games, responsive customer support, and reliable payment methods, which give you cash just for registering!

What Is SweepsLoot?

SweepsLoot is a free-to-enter sweepstakes site that offers cash prizes in all US states. Their giveaways work like lotteries, where you fill out a form and receive an entry ticket with a number. SweepsLoot then draws random numbers; if your number matches, you win the prize.

Sweepsloot Winner

SweepsLoot is currently running 10 different giveaways with prizes ranging from a $25 Amazon gift card to $275,000 in cash. Users can enter all of these giveaways multiple times a day. SweepsLoot announces the winners on their site every day, but we analyzed the winners’ list going back months, and despite offering multiple $1,000 + prizes, virtually all of the winners won the smallest $25 giveaways. This definitely makes you wonder if the big prize giveaways are fake.

SweepsLoot is owned by No Thanks INC, which has been around since 2017, and their registered company address is 1129 Northern Blvd., Suite 404, Manhasset, NY 11030. It’s a good sign that they are registered in the US, but we couldn’t find any information about the people behind this business, which should set your alarm bells ringing.

How Does SweepsLoot Work?

Sweepsloot Entry Ticket

Have you ever bought a lottery ticket? Well, SweepsLoot works in a similar fashion. To participate in a giveaway, you need to:

  1. Go to sweepsloot.com
  2. Click on one of the giveaways
  3. Enter your email and confirm you are 18 years or older
  4. Click on one of the blocks

After you have completed the above steps, you will receive an entry ticket with a unique random number. At the end of each game day, SweepsLoot will randomly draw one number, and if that drawn number matches your entry ticket, you win, and the promotion ends. If the drawn number doesn’t match any entry tickets, then the promotion continues.

If you win, SweepsLoot will contact you via email, and then you need to provide them with all kinds of personal information, including full name, date of birth, address, ID, proof of ownership over email, and proof you actually submitted the ticket.

SweepsLoot actually sells all of the data you share with them to 3rd parties, which is how they make money. Once you have provided SweepsLoot with all of the necessary information, they will send you a check in the mail within days.

Do SweepsLoot Sweepstakes Pay Real Money?

Sweepsloot Giveaways

SweepsLoot claims to pay real money and even has a $275,000 top prize giveaway. However, there are some serious doubts about the legitimacy of their giveaways. No one is monitoring SweepsLoot and checking the fairness of their contests. Also, the site shows no evidence of real winners – they simply list the first name, last initial, and the city of the supposed winner.

The types of giveaways SweepsLoot is running are so easy to manipulate. They claim to be using software that randomly draws a winner, but you are expected to blindly trust them. SweepsLoot can keep running these giveaways and pretend there is no winner or create a fake winner and never pay a single dollar.

Is SweepsLoot Sweepstakes Legal?

SweepsLoot sweepstakes are legal. According to US laws, it is legal for companies and individuals to host giveaways with real money prizes in all US states as long as there is no entry fee to participate. If a company charges an entry fee, they are no longer a legal sweepstakes site and instead are considered an illegal lottery.

To cover their bases, SweepsLoot has an extensive rules and terms and conditions section where they explicitly detail all of the things they can do with your data, including selling to 3rd parties, and that they reserve the right to cancel the promotion if they encounter any issues or fraud.

Despite SweepsLoot’s giveaways being legal, there is still concern over the fairness of the promotions. Based on our research, SweepsLoot does not show enough evidence of real winners, and they are not transparent about how winners are chosen. We would like to see them film their software randomly drawing numbers.

Other Sweepstakes Like SweepsLoot

SweepsLoot isn’t the first and won’t be the last shady free giveaway platform using prizes to lure in customers and snatch their data. Here are some other unscrupulous sweepstakes sites that scam people:

🥇Sweesp4All

Sweeps4All appears to be run by the same people behind SweepsLoot, even though it is operated by a different company. Sweeps4All runs daily giveaways with different prizes, one giveaway has a $888,888 top prize, while in another one, you can win a Jeep. These giveaways are free to enter by simply typing in your email, but like SweepsLoot, there are concerns over the fairness of these competitions and data privacy.

🥈SweepsZilla

SweepsZilla has a range of daily and weekly prizes. You can enter each giveaway 10 times per day. Apart from the cash prizes, you also receive a free Zilla every time you complete an entry. You can use Zilla to take part in exclusive giveaways. SweepsZilla guarantees daily prizes, and their top prize is $777,777. But again, we can’t validate the legitimacy of these giveaways, and they will sell your data.

🥉SweepsCrush

SweepsCrush has the exact same website design as Sweeps4All and SweepsLoot, so even though they are run by different companies, it is probably the same people behind them. In their free-to-enter competitions, SweepsCrush is giving away TVs, drones, and even a $125,000 cash prize, but good luck ever winning that!

🎖️Scratchstakes

Scratchstakes hosts 16 daily games, and you can enter each up to five times a day. They have prizes up to $8,888, and they guarantee someone will win at least $100 per day. Scratchstakes’ giveaways are free to enter and open to all US residents who are 18 years or older.

Our Thoughts & Alternatives

Let’s give SweepsLoot the benefit of the doubt and say their giveaways are fair and the prizes are real, but you still shouldn’t participate. First of all, the odds of winning are terrible! The $275,000 prize may look amazing until you read the fine print and realize your chances of winning are 250,000,000 to 1, which makes the odds of getting hit by lighting look amazing. Even for the smaller giveaways, the odds can still be 100,000 + to 1.

The other major problem with SweepsLoot is the nefarious things they do with your data. This shady sweepstakes site clearly states in their terms and conditions that they sell your data. SweepsLoot wants to collect as much as they can get their hands on and then sell it to a higher bidder.

So, if you actually want to win cash prizes while maintaining your privacy, forget about participating in SweepsLoot giveaways. Instead, try your luck at these sweepstakes casinos, which never sell data and have games like dice, blackjack, and baccarat, which give you an almost 50% chance of winning and hand out free cash when you sign up!
